
Don Gugliuzza – Chief Executive Officer
Don Gugliuzza is a Chicago native who brings 30 years of veteran experience with the manufacturing industry and diverse leadership experience at Tropicana-PepsiCo, Coca Cola, and Campbell Soup companies.
After retiring from PepsiCo, Don began his own training provider company – Mileo Group, Inc., to deliver a comprehensive suite of value added training solutions to companies throughout the United States and Canada. Don’s passion is to provide leadership that both establishes and refines his clients’ company policy to deliver a total productivity strategy and champion a culture of continuous improvement.
Don recently began his second term as a board director of Workforce Florida, Inc. under Governor Scott and chairs the Performance Committee for Workforce Florida with responsibility for the 24 regional workforce boards’ balanced scorecard. In addition, Don serves as a member on the WFI Finance Council, Strategy Council, and Growth Committees where his manufacturing experience is helping to shape the redesign of training for manufacturers in Florida and elsewhere in the country.
Further board positions include the Chair for the Florida Dept. of Education Workforce Curricula Reform Committee for Manufacturing, the Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Employ Florida Banner Center for Manufacturing, and a board member of FLATE Industry Advisory Council. Don also serves as the MAF manufacturing representative on the National Science Foundation Visiting Committee with oversight of FLATE and is board member with the Manufacturers Association of Florida where he is the Chair of the Manufacturers Association of Florida Workforce and Education Committee.
Phil Guercio – VP, Program Development
Phil Guercio is the VP, Program Development for Mileo Group. His responsibilities include the development of client projects, sourcing consulting and training resources, and managing alliance partners.
He has a manufacturing career of over 30 years in the Aerospace, Electronics, and the Food and Beverage industries.
He has served in a variety of capacities in materials management, logistics, production control, plant maintenance, project management and training development.
His background includes the development and implementation of technical training and assessment programs for maintenance technicians, production technicians and manufacturing support personnel. He has managed projects implementing MRP II, EAM/ CMMS, shop floor control systems and learning management systems.
He has been APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and is APICS Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM).
He is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Suncoast Workforce Board.
Phil holds a BFA in Communications from the New York Institute of Technology.
Dan Wombold – VP, Client Services
Dan Wombold is responsible for coordinating all training interaction with clients of Mileo Group and manages the activities of Mileo Group’s highly competent team of experienced manufacturing instructors.
He has 38 years of experience in the manufacturing industry with 30 of those years in Human Resources and 20 of those as the site HR leader. Dan also brings to Mileo Group extensive experience in union-management relationships and negotiations, employee relations, organizational design, team building, facilitation, both salaried and hourly personnel administration and employment, compensation, career development and guidance, education and training, health and safety, communications, and government and legal regulations in a manufacturing environment. He is an experienced public and community relations director and is adept at serving as site spokesperson.
Dan’s experience was been with world-recognized organizations in both the automotive as well as the food and beverage industries with PepsiCo (Tropicana and Quaker Oats), Federal Signal Corporation (Emergency One) and General Motors (Saginaw, Inland and Frigidaire Divisions).
Dan earned a BS in Industrial Management from General Motors Institute (now known as Kettering University) and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Jeff Lombard – Chief Operating Officer
Jeff Lombard, J.D., C.P.M. is a bottom-line producer that solves problems and makes deals from a strong legal perspective. Mr. Lombard holds a law degree and puts 30 years of proven excellence to work for Mileo Group clients, specializing in U.S. and international contract negotiations, structuring Information Technology managed acquisition processes, managing supplier relationships, and settling commercial disputes. He is also a Certified Purchasing Manager specializing in commercial contracts in the private and government sectors.
Reid trained, Mr. Lombard has designed and served as lead investigator in computer security and related corporate theft investigations.
Tom Marin – Strategic Partner, Management Services
Tom Marin is a change-management consultant with 25 years of experience working for some of the world’s largest corporations. His focus is to plan and drive strategy shifts and strategic growth programs. He advises private, public and not-for-profit clients with high stakes strategy and strategic growth programs in a myriad and diverse range of markets and marketing areas.
During his career, Tom has directed major client campaigns for companies such as Fuji Film, Rand McNally, Quebecor Printing, First of America Bank and Roper/Whirlpool. He has advised senior executives concerning their strategic planning and has earned a reputation for delivering both top-line and bottom-line results. He is an acknowledged leader in strategic market planning and brand strategy.
Tom is an accredited member of the national and international chapters of the Business Marketing Association, is a certified business communicator and a past marketing chair of the Chicago Chapter, and holds a bachelor's degree in education and social science from Northern Illinois University.
Patti Berhardt – Administrative Officer
Patti Berhardt has an extremely diverse set of administrative experience that she brings to bear on each Mileo Group client project she undertakes. Known best for her relentless pursuit of the project at hand and staying with it until it is complete, her peers all respect her caring concern that she exerts into each one. Having worked for some of the world’s largest consumer packaging goods companies she has honed her admin skills to flex with each project she’s assigned and quality is at the heart of each.
Mark McHayle – Senior Director of Technical Services
Mark McHayle brings 16 years of experience to each of our client’s engagements. Mark is responsible for consulting support, project management, CQV, root cause analysis, trouble shooting and shop floor training. His specialty is the manufacturing of cans, end and machine technologies. Mark is responsible for Mileo Group training on can/end technology and double seaming.

Previously Mark held positions at CRS America as their plant manager, and at Tropicana – Gatorade – PepsiCo, as their organizational development leader for packaging, and the change leader for SAP implementation. Mark has a B.S. University of Central Florida - Industrial Engineering.
